At a joint meeting of the standing committees of the City Council, deputies reviewed a draft decision on bringing the City Charter into compliance with federal legislation.

Deputy Head of the municipal entity Irina Sagidullina presented the draft amendments to the City Charter. The document was developed in connection with the adoption of Federal Law No. 33-FZ of 20.03.2025 “On General Principles of the Organization of Local Self-Government in the Unified System of Public Authority”.

“The amendments concern the clarification of the concept of local self-government, the rights of citizens, as well as the powers of government bodies in the unified system of public authority,” noted Irina Sagidullina. – The draft Charter will be submitted to public hearings, which are proposed to be scheduled for 11 September 2026 at 14:00 in room 400 of the Executive Committee building”.

Following the discussion, the draft decisions were recommended for submission to the next meeting of the City Council.

The next meeting of the City Council will be held on 29 July at 09:00. The broadcast will take place on the official website of the city of Naberezhnye Chelny.
