In Naberezhnye Chelny, the grand opening of the "Zaman" youth center took place, reconstructed under the "Region for the Young" program of the "Youth and Children" national project. The renovated building, covering nearly 2,000 square meters, features modern spaces for work, esports, and creativity. The opening ceremony on Tsvetochny Boulevard was attended by Mayor Nail Magdeev, State Duma Deputy Alfiya Kogogina, Deputy Head of Rosmolodezh Denis Ashirov, and Minister of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan Azat Kadyrov.
Nail Magdeev noted that with the support of the country's leadership and the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, an important facility for residents has been created, the status of which was confirmed at the federal level:
"Naberezhnye Chelny has a special history. Throughout all times, the youth have been, are, and remain the driving force behind the development of our beautiful auto-city – the capital of Russia's automotive industry, the birthplace of the legendary КАМАЗ. Our city is rightfully called young, beautiful, friendly, and soulful. The youth actively participate in all development processes, and the creation of such facilities is the best confirmation that you are in our special area of focus.
I want to thank the leadership of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs: thanks to their persistent work, we were able to attract funds from the federal budget for the major renovation of this building. Special thanks to our builders and designers. Now our young people will be engaged in this center".
Denis Ashirov emphasized the importance of the venue for professionals: "We want every such institution to truly be alive. We create it all together by working with the youth: we teach, educate, and implement new projects that will be useful to the district, the city, and the country as a whole. Youth is not only the future but also our present. And I want young people in this present to be in those points of attraction that centers like this create".
According to Azat Kadyrov, new laboratories and coworking spaces will help young people implement their boldest projects: "On behalf of Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov, I congratulate you on the renovation of the "Zaman" youth center. Naberezhnye Chelny has always been distinguished by a special Komsomol aura, established more than half a century ago during the construction of the plant and the city. This atmosphere has been preserved here for decades, which is why youth infrastructure facilities appeared here among the first in the republic. Of course, buildings deteriorate over time and with active use. But thanks to the attention of the city leadership and our close interaction with Rosmolodezh, we had the opportunity to attract project funds for updating the material base and developing the youth center".
During the tour of the three-story center, the guests visited a career guidance laboratory, a coworking space, an esports hall, and the "Bytovka" museum dedicated to the builders of КАМАЗ. The building also houses vocal, choreographic, and photo studios, a psychological relief room, and a spacious auditorium.
Funds for the building's renovation came from federal and republican budgets. The contractor replaced the roof and engineering networks, updated the facade and entrance group, and landscaped the surrounding area.
Now "Zaman" will be able to comfortably accommodate up to 300 people simultaneously. The center remains the main base for the working youth movement of Naberezhnye Chelny, which today unites employees of more than 30 local enterprises.
