In the Avtozavodsky and Central districts, veterans were presented with congratulations – on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Mayor Nail Magdeev – for their invaluable contribution to the Victory and many years of conscientious work.
The Head of the Avtozavodsky district Airat Khusnullin visited Aktas Valievich Garaev, who is celebrating his 96th birthday. The veteran was born in the village of Karamaly in the Aznakayevsky district into a large family. From an early age he knew hard work: at the age of ten he already worked as a general laborer, and during the war years he combined studies with work at an elevator. His father went through the entire war and reached Berlin. In 1944 Aktas Valievich finished school, and later connected his life with the oil industry, obtaining the specialties of tractor driver, driver and driller at "Bugulmaneftestroy". He retired as a driver for the repair of drilling rigs. For his valiant work he was awarded the medals "For Selfless and Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945" and "Veteran of Labor". Today Aktas Valievich is surrounded by the care of two children, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In the Central district, Deputy Head of the Administration Elmira Gilmetdinova congratulated home front worker Klavdia Ivanovna Baklanova on her 94th birthday. Klavdia Ivanovna was born in the village of Bimeri in the Arsky district and worked in her native collective farm during the war years. After the Victory she received a medical education and worked as a nurse in the hospital of the village of Bilyarsk, and in 1993 she moved to Nizhnekamsk, where she worked at a tire plant. Since 2017 she has lived in Naberezhnye Chelny. The veteran raised three children, and has two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Attention to the older generation and honoring their merits are an important component of the national project "Family". This initiative is aimed at strengthening traditional values, continuity of generations and creating conditions for a dignified life for every family, where the memory of the feat and labor heroism of their ancestors is carefully preserved.
