A festive concert dedicated to the opening of the Year of Native Languages and National Unity was held at the Energetik Recreation Center today. The solemn event was attended by the mayor Nail Magdeev. Before the start of the official part, he visited the exhibition organized in the lobby of the institution. It featured items of national clothing of Udmurts, Mari, Mordvins, Kazakhs, Bashkirs and other peoples.
The participants of the exhibition presented various folk dances and rituals to the mayor. It should be noted that 22 national associations have been operating in Naberezhnye Chelny since today.
The festive concert was opened by performances by creative groups of the city.
"Today we have gathered together with public organizations, national communities, and caring residents of Naberezhnye Chelny to officially launch the year of native languages and national unity. Among all the districts and cities of the Republic of Tatarstan, the city on the Kama has a special history. More than 80 nationalities with their own culture, religion, tradition, and native languages came here and were able to create a special community of people. This is how a large, multinational, friendly family called the city of Naberezhnye Chelny appeared. I don't think there are many cities in the world or Russia where an atmosphere of tolerance, mutual assistance and friendship between people has been created in such a short period of time. And the people of Naberezhnye Chelny are the property of our vast country and the Republic of Tatarstan. With their hard work, talent, and diligence, they did everything to make a beautiful city appear where the wind was blowing. Together with you, we must further strengthen the foundation that was created by the generation of pioneer builders, develop native languages, strengthen the material and technical base of national cultural associations," said the mayor.
The mayor also presented awards and commemorative plaques in honor of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the TASSR.
The honorary diploma of the mayor of the city for his great contribution to the preservation and development of the Tatar language, merits in the education of the younger generation was awarded to the editorial staff of the Naberezhnye Chelny newspaper Komesh Kyngyrau.
It should be noted that the year 2021 was declared the year of native languages and national unity by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
