The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with the Higher School of International Relations and the Higher School of Historical Sciences and World Cultural Heritage of the Institute of International Relations of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University and the TNV TV and Radio Company, is organizing the second season of the historical and cultural contest "Tarkhan", the final stage of which will be held in a television format.
The contest is aimed at popularizing the culture and history of Russia, Tatarstan, and Turkic peoples, promoting a culture of reading, and increasing interest in historical and cultural library heritage. Winners and prize-winners of the final stage (in-person round) have the right to preferential admission to the profile "History of Turkic Peoples" of the "History" direction (code 46.03.01) of the Institute on a tuition-free basis.
Students of grades 10-11 and students of secondary educational institutions from all constituent entities of the Russian Federation can take part in the contest. The contest is held in two rounds: 1st stage – online (correspondence) – includes registration on the contest website and an online quiz; 2nd stage – offline (in-person) – takes place in the format of a TV game show.
