Music made a huge contribution to the common cause of fighting the enemy. A song added spiritual strength and raised the fighting spirit. The play shows scenes of the war years, rare moments of soldiers' rest, when they managed to hum the lines of their favorite songs and remember their relatives and loved ones, thereby, as it were, drawing closer to victory and to returning to their families.
